Association Between Baseline Cardiovascular Risk and Incidence Rates of Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events and Malignancies in Patients with Psoriatic Arthritis and Psoriasis Receiving Tofacitinib

Baseline 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk and metabolic syndrome are potentially associated with the incidence of both MACE and malignancies in patients receiving TOFA in the PsA and PsO clinical trial programs. This post hoc analysis aimed to examine the baseline CV disease risk and its association with the occurrence of MACE and malignancies in TOFA-treated patients with PsA and PsO.

Real-world Retention and Clinical Effectiveness of Secukinumab for Axial Spondyloarthritis: Results from the CanSpA Research Network

Bimekizumab In Patients with Active Psoriatic Arthritis and Previous Inadequate Response or Intolerance to Tumour Necrosis Factor-Α Inhibitors: A Randomised, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Phase 3 Trial

This study showed rapid and clinically meaningful improvements with bimekizumab treatment in patients experiencing active PsA and showing an inadequate response or intolerance to TNFα inhibitors. Its chief aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of bimekizumab in patients with an inadequate response or intolerance to TNFα inhibitors.

The Effect of Guselkumab on General Health State in Biologic-Naïve Patients with Active Psoriatic Arthritis Through Week 52 of the Phase 3, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled DISCOVER-2 Trial

In the latest study by Curtis, et al. guselkumab treatment regimens improved general HRQoL as measured by the EQ-5D-5L Index and EQ-VAS. In reaching this conclusion investigators aimed to determine the minimal important difference for both instruments and to understand the associations between patient-reported EQ-5D-5L Index and EQ-VAS scores as well as key PsA clinical features.

Baseline Disease Activity Predicts Achievement of cDAPSA Treatment Targets with Apremilast: Phase III Results in DMARD-naïve Patients With Psoriatic Arthritis

Baseline disease activity, as measured by cDAPSA, predicts the achievement of treatment targets in DMARD-naïve patients post- apremilast treatment. To come to this conclusion Mease, et al.  analysed data from the PALACE 4 clinical trial which investigated apremilast in DMARD-naïve patients. 175 patients receiving 30mg apremilast from baseline with cDAPSA data available, were analysed.

Effect of bimekizumab on symptoms and impact of disease in patients with psoriatic arthritis over 3 years: results from BE ACTIVE

Here bimekizumab was associated with long-term reductions in disease activity and disease impact on patients with PsA. This investigation set out to evaluate the long-term effects of bimekizumab treatment on the key symptoms of PsA and the resulting impact on patient function and HRQoL.

Safety and Efficacy of Tofacitinib in Patients with Active Psoriatic Arthritis: Interim Analysis of OPAL Balance, an Open-Label, Long-Term Extension Study

This 3-year, open-label, LTE study follows PsA patients previously treated in pivotal studies OPAL Broaden and OPAL Beyond. It demonstrates maintained safety and efficacy of tofacitinib up to 36 and 30 months, respectively. No new safety concerns are highlighted. Previous P3 studies, OPAL Broaden and OPAL Beyond, demonstrated safety and efficacy of 5mg and 10mg tofacitinib BID in PsA.
