Factors Associated with the Retention of Secukinumab in Patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis in Real-world Practice: Results from a Retrospective Study (FORSYA)
RMD Open. 2023 doi: 10.1136/rmdopen-2022-002802 Epub Ahead of Print
This study reported the overall retention of secukinumab in daily practice in the period following its approval in France was approximately 59% at 1 year in axSpA patients. The aim of this study was to determine whether OSI were predictive of secukinumab retention at 1 year.

Gender-specific Differences in Patients with Psoriatic Arthritis Receiving Ustekinumab or Tumour Necrosis Factor Inhibitor: Real-world Data
Rheumatology (Oxford). 2023 doi: 10.1093/rheumatology/kead089
These real-world data from PsABio on gender differences suggest that, at the start of biologic treatment, females have a worse clinical picture of PsA than males. In coming to these conclusions and others, this study sought to investigate effects of gender on disease characteristics and treatment impact in patients with PsA.

Real-world Retention and Clinical Effectiveness of Secukinumab for Axial Spondyloarthritis: Results from the CanSpA Research Network
J Rheumatol. 2023 jrheum doi: 10.3899/jrheum.220824
The results of this real-world study of Canadian axSpA patients, the first of its kind, support the effectiveness of secukinumab for treatment of axSpA. This study aimed to use the CanSpA Research Network to describe real-world retention and effectiveness of secukinumab in the Canadian axSpA population.

Herpes zoster in Patients with Inflammatory Arthritides or Ulcerative Colitis Treated with Tofacitinib, Baricitinib or Upadacitinib: A Systematic Review of Clinical Trials and Real-world Studies
Overall, this evidence supports that HZ-risk is a “class” effect of JAKi, observing a higher risk compared to other non-biologic/biologic drugs . This study aimed to systematically review the incidence of HZ among RA, PsA, AS and UC patients treated with TOFA, BARI or UPA.

Treatment Persistence of Tumour Necrosis Factors And IL-17 Inhibitors in Axial Spondyloarthritis: A Multi-Center Comparative Analysis
Joint Bone Spine 2022; 89:105416 doi: 10.1016/j.jbspin.2022.105416
In this multi-centric, real-world study, persistence with secukinumab and TNFi were not statistically different for matched populations. The primary outcome of this analysis was drug persistence, calculated as the difference in months between initiation and discontinuation.

Real-world Treatment Patterns and Use of Adjunctive Pain and Anti-inflammatory Medications Among Patients with Psoriatic Arthritis Treated With IL-17A Inhibitors In The United States
J Manag Care Spec Pharm. 2022 doi: 10.18553/jmcp.2022.22144
In this study ixekizumab and secukinumab patients had similar treatment patterns. It was also surmised that the use of adjunctive pain and anti-inflammatory medications were similar between therapies. In coming to this conclusion investigators aimed to compare treatment patterns and use of pain and anti-inflammatory medications between patients with PsA initiating ixekizumab and secukinumab in two cohorts of patients from…(add here where is the population coming from).

Tofacitinib and Risk of Malignancy: Results From the Safety of Tofacitinib in Routine Care Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis (STAR-RA) Study
Arthritis Rheumatol. 2022;74:1648–1659 doi: 10.1002/art.42250
Large, population-based, real-world cohort of study in patients with RA finds tofacitinib not to be associated with an increased risk of malignancies, in comparison to TNFi agents, although a numerically increased risk of malignancies was observed in older patients with risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

Risk of major adverse cardiovascular and venous thromboembolism events in patients with rheumatoid arthritis exposed to JAK inhibitors versus adalimumab: a nationwide cohort study
Ann Rheum Dis. 2022. doi: 10.1136/ard-2022-222824
Real-world population study of patients with RA provides reassuring data regarding the risks of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) and venous thromboembolism events (VTEs) in patients initiating a JAKinib versus adalimumab, including patients at high risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Incident and Recurrent Herpes Zoster for First-Line bDMARD and tsDMARD Users in Seropositive Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients: A Nationwide Cohort Study
Arthritis Res Ther. 2022;24(1):180
Herpes zoster (HZ) risk is significantly increased in seropositive RA patients with a history of HZ after the initiation of bDMARDs or tsDMARD. It is now well known that the incidence and recurrence of HZ are quite common in patients with RA in real-world clinical settings, yet there is limited evidence regarding bDMARD-dependent HZ risk among patients with a history of HZ prior to bDMARD use.
